The Terrifying ‘Silica Particles’: Hollow Blocks Rising in Our Lungs!

Introduction

While the scorching heat of summer is exhausting enough, this year’s arrival of 'El Niño' brings an added threat. As the Pacific Ocean warms, alarms are being sounded that rising temperatures on land will claim human lives.

With the failure of last year’s North-East monsoon, lakes and ponds have dried up, and rivers lie parched. If the expected summer rains also fail, no new grass will sprout, and existing crops will wither away.

Urban dwellers cannot simply dismiss this as a rural crisis. A microscopic enemy is waiting to infiltrate through the crevices of your windows and overwhelm you.

An Invisible Invasion

We may take refuge indoors to escape the brutal heat. But who can stop the dust and pollutants mingled in the air? While the dust kicked up by vehicles on the road is one thing, the ultra-fine rock particles drifting from nearby stone quarries are occupying our homes. This isn't just common dust; these are toxic particles that enter our lungs and create 'Hollow Blocks' within.

Chronic Sneezing and Nano-Particles

Is someone in your home suffering from persistent sneezing? Rather than just treating the sneeze, the permanent solution lies in eliminating its cause. Does the sneezing continue even after you wipe the dust from window frames, lofts, and cupboards, and mop the floor several times a day?

There is a shocking reason behind this. Even if a stone quarry is located far from your house, the 'nano-sized silica particles' released during rock blasting mingle with the air and enter your rooms.

Try this: mop the floor with a damp cloth and then rinse that cloth in a bucket of water; the water will turn murky. Rub the floor with your bare hand; you will feel the grit of rock fragments. This is the root cause of your chronic sneezing and respiratory distress.

The Silent Killers

Stone quarries are not just scarring Mother Earth; they are slowly killing us too. No matter how many protective masks you wear, you cannot fully control these microscopic particles floating in the air. Permanently shutting down these quarries is the only real solution. But in a land where looters roam free, that is no easy task.

We can only survive if we stay alive until these rocks are completely quarried out. Otherwise, the ‘Hollow Blocks’ being built inside our lungs will eventually drag us to the gates of death.

Nature is the Only Ally

Stone quarries have become ‘ATMs’ that dispense cash not just to the ruling party, but to influential figures across all political lines. Therefore, no one is going to come to our rescue.

Our only hope now is the 'Summer Rain.' When it rains, the atmospheric moisture (Mist/Humidity) traps these flying micro-particles and settles them on the ground. Only the humidity in the air can provide a slight respite to our lungs. Only nature’s rain can suppress these fine particles; no other power can fully stop them.

Conclusion

In the name of development, stone quarries are plundering nature and suffocating human breath. A rare heavy downpour might quench our thirst, but it is the frequent summer rains that protect our respiration. To escape these terrifying black rock 'Nano-silica' particles, we have no choice but to look at the sky and wonder—“Will the clouds ever darken?”
